Nox X-One: Specs, Who It’s For & Why We Won’t Score It

How we grade, and how we make money. We don’t play-test rackets. We aggregate specialist reviews, video analysis, verified owner ratings and manufacturer specs into one comparable score, and we list every source at the bottom of this page. If you buy through a link here we may earn a commission, which never affects a grade: the score is locked before any link is added.

The Nox X-One does not have a PadelGrade Score, and that is deliberate. We found three independent sources on this racket. Our method requires five before we will put a number on anything, so this page gives you the specs, what those three sources actually say, and an honest account of where the evidence runs out.

It would be easy to pad the count. Three more “reviews” of this racket exist — but all three are written by shops that sell it, and a shop reviewing its own stock is marketing, not evidence.

Why there is no score

Our grade normally combines specialist consensus, verified owner ratings, specs and value. For the X-One, two of those four have nothing behind them:

  • Specialist consensus: three independent sources, and only two of them publish numbers. Two data points is not a consensus, it is a coin toss.
  • Owner ratings: six ratings across Amazon UK listings. Six is not a sample.

We could have averaged the two numbers we have and published a score. We are not going to, because a number implies a confidence we don’t have — and you would have no way of knowing the difference. If more sources appear, we will grade it and say so. The full rule is on how we grade.

What the sources do agree on

Even without a score, three sources pointing the same way tells you something useful. On the X-One they agree on the essentials:

  • It is a beginner to improver racket, and every source says so without hedging
  • Round shape with a genuinely forgiving sweet spot — it does not punish off-centre hits
  • Comfortable, thanks to the soft HR3 core and the fibreglass face
  • Modest power. Ratings of 5.1 and 5.5 out of 10 from the two sources that score it
  • Strong value at its price, which sits between £56 and £80 depending on version and retailer

That profile is coherent: this is a racket built to help you develop technique rather than compensate for its absence.

Where the two scoring sources disagree

And here is why two data points are not enough. On the sweet spot, one source rates it 6.6 and the other 9.2. On manoeuvrability, 6.4 against 9.2. Their overall figures land at 6.4 and 7.2.

Those are not small differences of emphasis — they are opposite descriptions of the same racket. Part of it is version confusion (one is reviewing the Casual Series), and part of it is simply that with two reviewers you cannot tell an outlier from a trend. With five, you can. That is the whole argument for our minimum.

Who it’s for

  • Buy it if you are starting out and want a forgiving racket from a serious brand without spending three figures.
  • Buy it if you play occasionally and value comfort over pace.
  • Don’t buy it if you already finish points at the net — power sits around 5 out of 10 and no version fixes that. Look at the best padel rackets ranking instead.
  • Worth knowing: if you expect to improve quickly, you may outgrow it within a season. The Nox ML10 Pro Cup is the natural step up within the same brand, and our guide to choosing a racket explains what changes when you move up.

Verdict

No score — and here is exactly why

We publish this one without a grade. Three independent sources is below the five our method requires, and the three that would have made up the difference are shops reviewing their own stock. The specs are here; the number is not, and saying so is the point.

What sources agree on
  • Forgiving round shape, good for developing technique
  • Comfortable soft core, easy on the arm
  • Genuine value between £56 and £80
What they don’t, or complain about
  • Sweet spot and manoeuvrability: ratings 2.6 points apart on both
  • Power around 5/10 — not a finishing racket by any account
  • Advanced players will find it soft, per every source
