What “advanced” actually means for equipment
Not years played. Two things, both testable:

1. Bullpadel Vertex 04 — 9.0, £128.90
The highest score in our database, and the reason is not power. It is the only diamond we have graded that forgives a mishit without giving up smash speed: power 89, forgiveness 74 — the best forgiveness figure of any diamond we have covered, against an average of 73 across the four.
Five specialist sources and 450 owner ratings agree on this frame more strongly than on any other we have covered. The one caveat every source repeats is the stock grip, which is thin and slips when damp — budget for an overgrip and read padel racket grip size first.

2. Nox AT10 Genius 18K — £169.90, the most evidence in the band
419 owner ratings at 4.5, which is six times the sample of the Vertex listing and by far the most verified evidence of any premium frame in the British market. It is the 18K aluminised-carbon version of the frame we grade at 8.7 — a teardrop that controls first and attacks second, with control at 86.

3. Adidas Metalbone Carbon Ctrl 3.4 — 8.9, £121.60
Control 93: the highest single dimension figure anywhere in our database, with one source placing it in the top 1% of every frame it has tested. A round head with a 16K aluminised carbon face and a soft core — the frame for advanced players who win with placement rather than pace.

4. Babolat Technical Viper — 8.5, the power pick
Juan Lebrón’s frame produces the highest power figure we have recorded: 97, with five sources agreeing within 0.6 of each other. Durability is 9.0, also the best in the database. It is built for players who hit hard and often.
The cost is a small, high sweet spot — forgiveness 73. Off centre, the ball dies. Three generations are on sale at once with an enormous price gap between them, so check which one you are buying. The full review covers the differences.

5. Adidas Metalbone series — £174.54
4.6 across 113 ratings. The standard Metalbone rather than the Ctrl: a high balance, a stiff face and a clear attacking bias. It is the frame for a left-side player who finishes overhead, and it is genuinely demanding — the same platform whose control version we grade at 8.9 behaves very differently once the mass moves up the head.

6. Adidas Metalbone HRD+ 3.4 — £214.90
4.6 across 102 ratings, and the stiffest frame on this page. HRD is Adidas’s hardest core, and the combination of that with a high balance produces a racket that rewards a perfect strike and punishes everything else severely.

Better for attacking, yes — our diamonds average 91 for power against 73 for round frames. They also average 73 for forgiveness against 86, which only stops mattering once your contact point is genuinely repeatable.
What is the difference between the 12K and 18K versions of a racket?
