The value pick is the Asics Gel VL Court 3.0 at £42, and it is not close. 4.6 out of 5 across roughly 11,000 owner ratings is the largest verified sample of any court shoe on Amazon UK, and its herringbone-style court sole is exactly what a padel surface needs.
The padel-specific pick is the adidas Courtquick Padel at £55.96 — 4.6 across 320 ratings, built for the sport rather than adapted to it. Above that, you are paying for tour-level cushioning most club players will not use.

The only thing that actually matters: the sole
Padel is played on artificial turf dressed with sand. The movement is lateral — push off sideways, stop, turn, push back — and the surface is loose on top of hard underneath.

Everything else — weight, cushioning, upper material, brand — is preference. The sole is not.
A note on the data. Amazon UK returns 58 products for “padel shoes”. Most of them are running trainers, casual sneakers and, genuinely, cycling shoes, listed against the term because it converts. We removed all of them. What follows are the six that are court shoes and carry a sample worth reading.

Roughly 11,000 owner ratings averaging 4.6, which is an order of magnitude more evidence than any padel-branded shoe in the British market has. It is a court shoe rather than a padel shoe — the tread is a multicourt pattern, the cushioning is basic Gel — and for two sessions a week that is entirely sufficient.
What you give up against a £90 padel shoe: lateral reinforcement in the upper, and midsole return on long sessions. What you keep: the sole that matters and about £50.

2. adidas Courtquick Padel — £55.96, the padel-specific pick
Designed for padel rather than borrowed from tennis: a clay-pattern outsole, a reinforced toe for the drag that happens when you lunge into the glass, and lateral support through the midfoot. 4.6 across 320 ratings.
Watch the listings. The same shoe appears in different colourways at £55.96, £67.98 and £70.00 on the same day. The £67.98 version carries a larger sample — 601 ratings at 4.5 — but it is the same shoe. Buy whichever colour is cheapest in your size.
adidas Courtquick Padel
3. Bullpadel Hurakn Lite — £70.99 men’s, £53.36 women’s
Bullpadel makes rackets for a large part of the professional tour and its shoes are built around the same movement pattern. The Lite is the lighter, less aggressive version of the Hurakn: fine for club play, less shoe than the Pro for people who play four times a week.
The women’s version is cheaper than the men’s — £53.36 against £70.99 — for the same model, which is unusual and worth taking advantage of.

4. Asics Solution Swift FF 2 Padel — £92.42
The step up that is genuinely a step up. FlyteFoam midsole, padel-specific outsole and real torsional stiffness through the middle of the shoe — the property that stops your foot rolling when you push off sideways at speed. 4.5 across 63 ratings.
Worth the money if you play three or more times a week or have had an ankle problem. Not worth it for a Sunday game.

Named for Fernando Belasteguín and built to the specification a professional asks for: maximum lateral containment, an outsole tuned for sanded turf, and a fit that is deliberately tight. 4.8 across 43 ratings — the highest average here, on the smallest sample here.
Buy it if you play at a competitive level and know why you want it. It is not a first pair.

How long they last, and when to replace them
Sanded turf is abrasive and eats outsoles faster than a tennis hard court does. Two sessions a week wears a mid-range shoe out in roughly nine to twelve months.
The signal to replace is not the upper — it is the tread. When the herringbone channels have flattened in the forefoot, the shoe has stopped shedding sand and starts sliding. That is the point at which it becomes an injury risk rather than a worn shoe.
What we would not spend money on
- Padel-branded socks. Any thick sports sock does the same job.
- A second pair for indoor. British indoor padel uses the same sanded turf as outdoor. There is no indoor-specific surface to buy for.
- Padel-branded clothing to match. There is no dress code at British club level, and the shoes are the only item that matters — see what to wear to padel.

- A £150 shoe as your first. You will not use the stiffness, and you will wear it out on the same schedule as a £50 one.

Can you wear running shoes for padel?

How long do padel shoes last?
Roughly nine to twelve months at two sessions a week. Replace them when the tread in the forefoot has flattened, not when the upper looks tired.
