Best Padel Bags: From a 6-Pound Cover Upwards

How this page works, and how we make money. We do not grade bags — the PadelGrade Score is for rackets. What you get here is the British price, what the bag actually holds, the average owner rating and the size of the sample behind it. If you buy through a link we may earn a commission; it does not change the order.

Most people reading this should buy a £6 cover, not a bag. The Head full-size coverbag carries 835 owner ratings at 4.4 and does the only job a bag does for a single racket: stop the frame being scuffed in a rucksack.

Buy a real bag when you carry two rackets, shoes and a change of clothes. That starts around £28 and tops out, sensibly, around £35. Above £60 you are buying capacity for rackets you do not own.

What you carryWhat you needBudget
One racket, balls, keys — you drive to the courtA racket cover£6–17

Two rackets, shoes, kit, straight from workA padel backpack£30–35

Padel bags are sized by racket capacity — “3 racket”, “6 racket” — but nobody carries six rackets. Read the capacity as a proxy for volume: a 6-racket bag is a holdall with racket sleeves, not six rackets’ worth of need.

1. Head Padel Full Size Coverbag — £6.00, the one most people need

835 ratings at 4.4, at six pounds. It is a padded sleeve with a zip and a strap, and it protects a racket from the keys and the water bottle in your bag. That is the entire job.

Buy this, put it in whatever rucksack you already own, and spend the £30 you did not spend on shoes, where it makes a difference you can feel.

2. Raquex Enigma cover — £16.90, Amazon UK’s category pick

4.6 across 135 ratings and the item Amazon UK surfaces first in this category. Properly padded rather than a sleeve, with a shoulder strap that makes it usable on its own if all you carry is a racket and a tube of balls.

3. Bullpadel Tour — £28.10, the first real bag

4.6 across 59 ratings. Bullpadel equips a large share of the professional tour and its Tour bag is built to the pattern that actually works: a thermal racket compartment, a separate vented pocket for shoes, and a shoulder strap rather than a handle.

The thermal compartment is not a gimmick. A racket left in a car boot through a British winter and then used cold is a racket you can crack — EVA foam stiffens and the face goes brittle.

4. Raquex 2-racket backpack — £33.90

4.5 across 42 ratings. A backpack rather than a shoulder bag, which matters if you cycle or walk to the court, and sized for two rackets plus kit rather than a tour player’s inventory. The most practical shape for someone going straight from work.

5. Head Base Padel Bag M — £34.90

157 ratings at 4.2 — the largest sample of any full-size bag here, and the lowest average, which is worth reading honestly: it is a well-made bag that a minority of owners find smaller than they expected. Buy it as a two-racket bag, not a three.

6. Tildosac padel backpack — £59.99, if you genuinely carry everything

168 ratings at 4.4, and the largest capacity here: multiple racket sleeves, a ventilated shoe compartment and enough room for a full change. It is more bag than a club player needs and exactly right for a coach or someone who plays straight after work four times a week.

What actually matters in a padel bag

  1. A thermal racket compartment. The only feature with a mechanical justification. Cold hardens EVA foam and makes a frame brittle; heat softens it and can delaminate a face. If your racket lives in a car, this is worth the money.
  2. A separate shoe pocket, ventilated. Padel shoes come off a sanded court full of sand. You do not want that against your clothes.
  3. Straps you will actually use. Backpack straps beat a single shoulder strap for anything you carry more than ten minutes.
  4. Capacity you have, not capacity you want. A six-racket bag holding one racket is a large empty bag.

What does not matter: the brand, the colour, and the number of small zipped pockets. Those are the three things the product photography sells hardest.

If you are still assembling a kit rather than replacing part of one, the order to buy in is racket, shoes, balls, then everything on this page — the shortlist is best padel rackets for beginners and the consumable is best padel balls.

Frequently asked questions

Do you need a padel bag?

No. A £6 racket cover protects the frame in a rucksack you already own, which is the only job a bag does for a single racket. A real bag makes sense from two rackets plus shoes and kit.

How much should a padel bag cost?

£6 to £17 for a cover, £28 to £35 for a two-racket bag or backpack. Above £60 you are paying for capacity most club players never fill.

What size padel bag do I need?

A 2- or 3-racket bag covers almost everyone. Racket capacity on the label is a proxy for volume rather than a real count — nobody carries six rackets.

Can you use a tennis bag for padel?

Yes. Padel rackets are shorter than tennis rackets, so any tennis bag fits them. The reverse is not true.

Does a thermal compartment actually matter?

If your racket is stored in a car, yes. Cold stiffens the EVA core and makes the face brittle; heat can soften and delaminate it. Otherwise it is a convenience.
